With Round 3 now over, it's about time we had the mastermind meme!

To those who aren't familiar, this is essentially an AU where your character is the one responsible for Round 3's Mutual Killing Game, and all of the carnage that came with it, from the kidnapping to the motives to the trials to the executions! And now, they have chosen to reveal themselves before the remaining members of their class at the final trial!

As such, you are free to play around with this as much as you would like; did your character make a contract with Kyuubey, or did your character put everyone in the Killing Game for a different reason? What is your character's motivation for bringing despair? What do they intend to get out of this seemingly senseless killing? And what does the rest of the class have to do to stop the madness and go home?

There's probably going to be quite a bit of AUing from your character's original canon happening here to make them into the best harbingers of despair they can be, so feel free to go as nuts with it as you want to! And, of course, feel free to tag others with your character's reaction to their classmate's big reveal; it doesn't matter whether or not your character made it to endgame, have fun and mix up the survivor pool as much as you'd like!

Oh, and feel free to describe your character's sweet new Monobear-themed duds, too!!

[Oh, he hears it, though he isn't sure what to make of it; he's back to gripping his podium.]

This isn't about revenge, Uryuu-san. It's about not being yours anymore.

[And from the sound of it, it really isn't revenge. Not really. Not anymore. There isn't anything bloodthirsty behind it.

[He's back to smiling with his eyes closed again and Ryuunosuke doesn't seem bothered by that at all.]

It's sort of disappointing that you're not angry at me. I was kind of hoping you'd decide to finish me off yourself! I can't imagine any cooler way to die!

[...well, his execution will make up for it!!]

I knew I'd never be yours in the long run, so disowning me isn't really going to do anything. But nice try!

What makes you think I'm trying to do anything...?

What do you want, Uryuu-san?

[There's nothing harsh behind it; it's just a question.]

Ideally speaking, what would I be doing right now?

[That gets him to hesitate and for a long moment Ryuunosuke just stares down at Tsukiyama in confusion.

What does he want?]

...Ideally speaking you'd jump up here and run me through. Maybe you'd make it a cool death, but I doubt you'd want me to have that. So you'd do it quickly, get it over with and you'd be vicious about it. You'd let me know how much you hated me and you wouldn't give me a chance to talk.

[Tsukiyama's good at reading people, he can probably get a lot out of what Ryuunosuke just said. He doesn't really care though and he still looks sort of confused when he's done speaking.]

[He's quiet for a moment.]

...Would you feel something, if I did that?

Of course I would.

[...But apparently he's not going to elaborate on that any.]

[No. No, you're not getting away with that.]

What would it be like for you, do you think?

I'm curious because I wouldn't know; I've never wanted to die.

It would be so... so cool. Getting to see the color of my insides, feeling my life fade away... I can't even begin to describe it.

[He wraps his arms around himself and he laughs. The sound is surprisingly quiet instead of the loud, shrieking laughter from his "execution".]

I can only experience it once, so it has to be done in the most amazing way possible. If you choose to execute me, I get to die the way I planned. So I'll get my final, perfect experience.

...Why don't you want me to give you the chance to talk?

[That's the part that's striking him strangely, out of all of this.]

Why do you want me to tell you I hate you and not let you say anything - what purpose does that serve, as long as you get your experience?

[greatestcool]

[Ryuunosuke glances away immediately and it takes him a moment to force himself to look at Tsukiyama again. He's still smiling but there's something a bit off in the expression.]

I don't have anything to say, that's all. Besides, I've been waiting for this for two months! Why would I want to wait any longer?

[preybeforemeals]

[Oh...Oh, no, nonono, don't do that - ]

...Ryuunosuke. Talk to me.

[greatestcool]

Don't call me that!

[The words are out there before he can think to temper them any and Ryuunosuke flinches. He doesn't look or sound angry at all, it sounds closer to panic than anything else.]

[preybeforemeals]

...It's too intimate if I call you that, isn't it.

[He doesn't sound like he's judging him for it, at least.]

There's distance there if I call you Uryuu-san.

[greatestcool]

That's how it should be! You're not supposed to...

[...No, hang on, this isn't right. Give him a second. Ryuunosuke shakes his head and keeps his eyes closed for a moment while he works out whatever emotion might have cropped up. When he looks at Tsukiyama again the smile is back, his eyes are still dead, and it's like nothing ever happened.]

Well, there's no point in continuing that. I should just go ahead and open up the vote. Let's get this over with.

Before you open the vote up...do the usual rules still apply? The rules within the hotel.

Because if they do, you're impeding my investigation - we've clarified so many times in previous trials that we're permitted to interrogate culprits as much as we like. We're supposed to find the truth, aren't we?

[His voice has gone blank; businesslike, almost.]

...One last time, Ryuunosuke. Please.

Ugh. I knew the rules were a stupid idea...

[SIGH...]

...Fine. One last time. Ask what you want, I don't care.

[He folds his arms and he's got his eyes closed again, but at least this time he didn't snap about the name.]

[...Good.]

We can start with what you were going to say just now. About what it is I'm not supposed to be doing.

...You're not supposed to want to talk to me. You're supposed to be upset that I led you on all this time. You're supposed to be angry and you're supposed to hate me. You should want revenge. You should hate me.

[He's not moving to look at Tsukiyama and it's all said in a flat voice. He doesn't sound angry, just resigned.]

But you never did make things easy on me. I guess I should've expected that.

...Did you lead me on, all this time?

[He's not referring to the game; he's not referring to this. But everything else...

Tsukiyama has always been good at lying to others, at making them love him even if he doesn't know how to keep them; Ryuunosuke...he's different, in that regard. He lies, surely, but that can't possibly have been all things were, were they? That last part isn't right, about things not being easy, is it.]

Of course I did! How dumb do you think I am? There's no way I'd let anything get in the way of running this!

[Well, Tsukiyama's words have certainly gotten a reaction out of him. He looks furious, he's gripping the railing tight enough for his knuckles to go white, and he's shaking.]

...I don't recall saying you were dumb, and I agree with you - you wouldn't let anything get in the way of your fun. However, sometimes circumstances change, don't they? Things happen that you don't expect, things that you couldn't plan for.

Someone understanding you, maybe. No one else really has, have they?

Whether you won or lost, you expected to be alone at the end of it, didn't you? Alone with the bodies and the screams of the dying, like you always are - even your ultimate experience is self-contained, it has to come from inside you, because you can't get it from anyone else. Can you?

[greatestcool]

[It's obvious Ryuunosuke has no idea what to do with that. He's still gripping the railing tightly and he's still shaking, but he can't decide what expression he should be wearing or how he should be reacting.

Eventually the fight leaves him and his shoulders slump. He glances down and away, like he always does.]

...Yeah. Yeah, you're right, okay? I didn't expect any of... that. I didn't realize I'd like you so much and I didn't think you'd actually have any sort of impact on me. You weren't supposed to understand.

It doesn't matter. We're here and we're on opposite sides. You can't leave as long as I'm alive, so I have to die. At least that will go according to plan.

Why are you insisting on adhering to the rules, even now? We don't have to do this, we don't have to do any of this.
