THE MASTERMIND AU MEME

THE MASTERMIND AU
AMBIDEX EDITION
With Round 3 now over, it's about time we had the mastermind meme!
To those who aren't familiar, this is essentially an AU where your character is the one responsible for Round 3's Mutual Killing Game, and all of the carnage that came with it, from the kidnapping to the motives to the trials to the executions! And now, they have chosen to reveal themselves before the remaining members of their class at the final trial!
As such, you are free to play around with this as much as you would like; did your character make a contract with Kyuubey, or did your character put everyone in the Killing Game for a different reason? What is your character's motivation for bringing despair? What do they intend to get out of this seemingly senseless killing? And what does the rest of the class have to do to stop the madness and go home?
There's probably going to be quite a bit of AUing from your character's original canon happening here to make them into the best harbingers of despair they can be, so feel free to go as nuts with it as you want to! And, of course, feel free to tag others with your character's reaction to their classmate's big reveal; it doesn't matter whether or not your character made it to endgame, have fun and mix up the survivor pool as much as you'd like!
Oh, and feel free to describe your character's sweet new Monobear-themed duds, too!!
Original meme text borrowed and modified from loveisanopendoor!

Shockingly, the gun locker is full of guns!
They aren't like the tommygun Harvey had before, though. They're old-fashioned flintlock pistols in various styles, piled neatly together inside. Despite the apparent care in their storage, there's a thin layer of dust over them.
Strangely, there doesn't seem to be any ammunition at all.]
no subject
Before stuffing the pistol in a pocket, he holds it to his eyes and peers at the design. It's beautiful. Let's see if there's anything inside the barrel...]
no subject
When it fades, Duster finds himself in a bright white space. It's featureless, but he's not alone; there's a young girl standing in front of him. Despite the circumstances she looks fairly normal: no older than thirteen, in ordinary clothes and with her red hair in a short bob.]
Hello? [She looks up at him, arms held close to her body and face drawn.] Who are you?
no subject
He drops the pistol and shields his face from whatever's popping out of it. Why did Harvey rig this with traps? Is that what these guns are for? Toss them at SHSL Despair in hopes that they open it?
The light isn't going away, and he opens one eye to peek at his surroundings. White. Not good. He lowers his arms and immediately spots the red-haired girl.]
Hello? [Whoops, he repeated her question back at her. Quick, fix that!] I'm Duster. Where am I?
no subject
I can't do it any other way anymore.
no subject
Is this what my mind looks like?
no subject
I don't think so. It always looks like this. Maybe we can make it look like something else, if you want.
But how did you get to me? Where's Harvey?
no subject
[At least it wasn't a symbolic insult to Duster's intelligence.]
I'm not sure exactly. I opened a gun I found in Harvey's closest and the next thing I knew, I was here.
...Harvey is...[He looks at his hands.] He's gone.
no subject
[She doesn't really do anything, but now they're in a nice sunny field.]
Right! That was me - my soul is in the gun. I'm sorry if that was startling, I just wanted to talk to you. None of us have seen anybody since... [She trails off for a second, then asks.] Was he trying to kill you too?
no subject
Hm?
[To lie or not to lie? If this girl was close to Harvey, she might not like the idea of him being a mass murderer. But in a sense, it was Harvey attempting to kill them all.]
Kind of. He was possessed by a Shade, but...I don't know how much of that was the real him.
no subject
I'm not sure either. The last time I saw him -
I'm sorry for what he did to you. He wasn't always like that. Shades are parasites, and it had dug in pretty deep even back then.
no subject
It's not your fault. [Guilt tore at Lucas' heart when his mother died and Claus disappeared, but it wasn't his fault. You can't blame a small child for what happened to an adult. This girl did not have to endure this feeling.] I knew the real Harvey wouldn't have done this. We got to spend a lot of time together before...it came back.
[Twice he lost Harvey, and twice he missed him.]
How do you know him?
no subject
[Margaret looks down at her clasped hands.]
I think I could have killed the Shade then, if he'd used me. But I can't fire the gun myself. Together we're a lot stronger, but Harvey's just been keeping us all in this box so we've just been sitting here...
no subject
[His hand jerks back. Harvey killed a friend? He stares at the sky ahead of him as Margaret explains, and several things click together. Where the Shade came. The story about the ghost in the gun.]
...What was your partner's name?
no subject
[She grips her sleeves tightly and gives a wan smile at the ground.] His name was Linkara.
no subject
If we're in his world, I'll be sure to visit his grave. [An idea:] Do you think I can take you and...the other ghosts with me?
no subject
Yes. Just take our guns. I don't know where he was buried, but...I'd like to go with you, if you find it.
[She blinks, as if a thought just occurred to her.]
Actually - we should see if any of the other victims' spirits are still around here first. Maybe all of us can help them out.
no subject
Here? You really think so? Will we need to put their spirits in these guns, too?
....How do we get out of here, anyway?
no subject
[At that last question, Margaret frowns.] We're...still on the ship, right? I might be able to figure it out if you take me up there.
no subject
[Boat? Wait, didn't Harvey mention something about a friend who owned a spaceship? His eyes widen when he realizes what Margaret is referring to.]
You mean like one of those that go out into space? Then everyone...[is probably standing around, confused and possibly pressing all the wrong buttons on the control panel] is still stuck here.
But I'm not sure. Let's get out of here first.
no subject
[The field and Margaret are already fading as she speaks, until Duster is left exactly where he started, on the floor of a dead man's room with an old gun in his hands.]
no subject
He takes two guns and stuffs them, barrels down, into his side pouches with no idea whether the safety is on or not. Guns aren't a commonplace weapon in Tazmily. Then he takes a sheet from Harvey's bed an fashions a blanket out of it, dumping the rest of his collection in their. Not the stealthiest of his burglaries, but it works.
With Margaret in one hand and a blanket full of guns in the other, Duster heads to the elevator up to the hotel.]
no subject
As they all return to the execution area, Margaret's voice sounds quietly, as if she were standing next to him and whispering.]
Oh! Can you stop for a second? [After a second, she adds in a softer tone.] And can we maybe - not look at Harvey right now?
no subject
Sure.
I can face the other way if you want, but...did you spot something?
[He rests the bag of stolen guns on the floor. It's pretty heavy.]
no subject
There's a LOT of ghosts here. [She doesn't sound terribly surprised - violent death and all. It was all so ritualistic too, from what little she knows of the game.] They aren't all even human! And - oh! You didn't tell me there was a medium!
