With Round 3 now over, it's about time we had the mastermind meme!

To those who aren't familiar, this is essentially an AU where your character is the one responsible for Round 3's Mutual Killing Game, and all of the carnage that came with it, from the kidnapping to the motives to the trials to the executions! And now, they have chosen to reveal themselves before the remaining members of their class at the final trial!

As such, you are free to play around with this as much as you would like; did your character make a contract with Kyuubey, or did your character put everyone in the Killing Game for a different reason? What is your character's motivation for bringing despair? What do they intend to get out of this seemingly senseless killing? And what does the rest of the class have to do to stop the madness and go home?

There's probably going to be quite a bit of AUing from your character's original canon happening here to make them into the best harbingers of despair they can be, so feel free to go as nuts with it as you want to! And, of course, feel free to tag others with your character's reaction to their classmate's big reveal; it doesn't matter whether or not your character made it to endgame, have fun and mix up the survivor pool as much as you'd like!

Oh, and feel free to describe your character's sweet new Monobear-themed duds, too!!

[He stops where he is, because while he'd wanted to be on the same level as her, not yelling up at her like a victim to their captor, he doesn't mean to scare her. She's still got the power here; she could shoot him dead before he could touch her. But she's still afraid...]

You went through somethin' that never should've happened and you're fucked up. It's different. You must've noticed none of us here are exactly the most stable people around.

...Yeah. That's why you're here. I. I hoped it would happen again, and now you're this close to winning and they've just about figured out where we are and you're going to get your happy ending again instead, aren't you!

You wanted us to stay here with you? And - what, keep on doin' this?

You all kept having fun, you were friends, you kept up your hope -- even with everything you went through! You didn't give in and nobody's won. Now someone's out there and I know none of you want to stay here, so it's easy for you, isn't it? But I just can't... Despair is all I have left. Why wasn't it like that for you?

[It's an easy answer - they'd had each other. They'd even had HER once, or so they thought. But what would that say about her, and these friends of hers that she lost?]

It doesn't have to be that way. Didn't you have us, for a while? You were one of us! I - god, I wished more than anything that I could've saved you!

[Haruka flinches. She reaches for the Monobear between them, holds it like a shield, or maybe just a security blanket.]

I did, too... I'm sorry. I'm sorry. All I have is despair. I wanted someone else to have it too, but you're gonna live. I can't keep this up any longer. Heh, I thought I'd just take all your happiness and win this, but that can't happen either, can it?

That ain't how happiness works, kid. It ain't rationed.

[Though he can't say she'll be happy after this. She wanted something different out of it, and even if he's willing to forgive her, not everyone will be. Two months ago, he doubts he would've been either. This damn place...he just can't watch her die a second time.]

What...what's gonna happen now? How do these games end?

I thought that once. For a while, I thought I was all wrong. That you could watch happiness grow, share it with everyone... That kind of world would be nice.

If you vote Despair, then I dunno. We can just stay here forever. But I don't think anyone could bear it, either being around me or being so close to being rescued and then losing it. Heh... and that was what I was looking forward to, you know? And now I don't want it. I'm a failure even at despair. So I guess I could just self-destruct the hotel, if it's easier. You know.

Of course I do! It's in the rules! And -- and besides, you know how many people died because of me! My old class, all those people after that in SHSL Despair, your own classmates -- why don't you try and save them if you love miracles that much?

[Dave knows people, he said. Even if that doesn't pan out, Harvey's seen things too. Between the lot of them, they'll get it.]

We didn't know about the old class, but now that we do - wait, you killed all those Despair people too?

No, Finevoice-san. [Her eyes go to the floor.] We killed everybody else.

[Harvey swallows, his throat suddenly dry.]
