THE MASTERMIND AU MEME

THE MASTERMIND AU
AMBIDEX EDITION
With Round 3 now over, it's about time we had the mastermind meme!
To those who aren't familiar, this is essentially an AU where your character is the one responsible for Round 3's Mutual Killing Game, and all of the carnage that came with it, from the kidnapping to the motives to the trials to the executions! And now, they have chosen to reveal themselves before the remaining members of their class at the final trial!
As such, you are free to play around with this as much as you would like; did your character make a contract with Kyuubey, or did your character put everyone in the Killing Game for a different reason? What is your character's motivation for bringing despair? What do they intend to get out of this seemingly senseless killing? And what does the rest of the class have to do to stop the madness and go home?
There's probably going to be quite a bit of AUing from your character's original canon happening here to make them into the best harbingers of despair they can be, so feel free to go as nuts with it as you want to! And, of course, feel free to tag others with your character's reaction to their classmate's big reveal; it doesn't matter whether or not your character made it to endgame, have fun and mix up the survivor pool as much as you'd like!
Oh, and feel free to describe your character's sweet new Monobear-themed duds, too!!
Original meme text borrowed and modified from loveisanopendoor!

The sudden burning in his hand momentarily breaks his concentration. Panicking over the possibility that this will break the spell, he leans over to pick it up when a flash blinds him. He's caught off balance and nearly hits the floor, his hand being the only thing that props him up.
Now that the gun is cool, he holds it again and looks up, finding the reason for the excited screams from his side of the room.
Kureha, the girl he wanted to reach out to. Silver, the boy who thought his life didn't mean much. Washington, the man who only wanted to protect them. They're all here. Everyone is here.]
I can't believe it! [He rushes to the other side, not caring for the incoming stampede of hugs. They're all bunched together now, even if Tsukiyama and Ryuunosuke are standing off to the side. Even Wario bothers to get close to the group hug and begrudgingly cross his arms while muttering something under his breath.]
I'm so glad...! [A heavy breath.] I'm so happy you're here again...
[He closes his eyes and lets the students, killed and survivors, circle around him. Some thank him for his efforts in reviving the dead, most cry.]
no subject
...seeeeems like a good time for the mastermind to quietly get up and make a break for the door!]
no subject
The commotion is enough for the group hug to break apart, and Duster, having the highest Speed stat among them, is the first to reach Harvey's side.]
Hey, cut that out! [Tsukiyama please stop killing people.] Harvey. Harvey! Hold on!
no subject
...buuuuuut he is pretty large and this room's very well-lit, so that's fair. It was a stupid thing to try anyway. Harvey's not pretending to be smart right now, so he's just going to keep right on going. This is not a room he wants to be in any more.]
Not now.
no subject
Where are you going?! You can't leave us when you just came back!
[He's already behind him.]
Dad, we missed you...
no subject
[...nope. Nope. It's gone. All that anger he's been living with this whole time has just drained away; even though he thinks he should be mad now, he can't dredge it up. He just feels...empty.
Harvey lets his hand drop.]
Why did you do this?
no subject
Because you deserve to live, that's all. [He falls into a battle ready stance in case he has to catch Harvey if he plans on running off again.] Harvey, you're alive again. Isn't that enough of a reason to be happy?
no subject
No! I'm the one who killed all of 'em, remember?
no subject
Harvey...
Don't tell me it's not gone...
no subject
[That vaguely sounds like an attempt at a joke, but his mouth doesn't so much as twitch. He just rubs at his eyes in a tired gesture.]
Alright. Okay, I'll send ya all home now.
no subject
[He hopes she answers.]
...You're coming with us, right?
no subject
[As Harvey finishes the order, the rest of the class starts to vanish as they're teleported away. Not all of them are happy about it, predictably, but there they go.
Duster stays for now. They're having a conversation.]
There's folks there that can help 'em get back. Probably even keep all of you in contact. You don't need me to come.
no subject
He doesn't move any closer to Harvey when he's addressed.]
Why not? I'll explain what happened.
no subject
Kid...everyone I cared about is gone. I ain't got any home to go back to. It would've been better if you'd just left me dead.
no subject
You had us. You had Margaret. [He lifts the gun he had been holding the whole time. It's clear he has no idea how to safely carry the thing, but at least his fingers are nowhere near the trigger.] I don't have a world to return to, but that doesn't mean I don't have people I care about.
no subject
[Harvey looks faintly horrified by what's happening here - apparently flaunting your terrible gun safety is one way to distract him from spiraling into self-loathing. After indicating where the safety is, he pinches wearily at the bridge of his nose.]
Shit, right, I forgot about that. Damn it, and I was just gonna send you back - you want me to go check in on the place?
no subject
[Now he knows it doesn't shoot ghost bullets.]
Sure, you can come with me. If they really are alright, they can use someone from the past to help them out. [Someone who knows what the world used to be like that isn't brainwashed or have their memories stored in an egg.]
no subject
Aw, I'm not invitin' myself along, kid. I'll just hang around long enough to make sure I ain't droppin' ya into the goddamn apocalypse.
C'mon. [He starts back towards the bridge, expecting Duster will follow.] It'll be quick. This is a good ship, once you get the hang of it. I'll show ya how to make it go.
no subject
Ah, well. He'll follow Harvey and go on from there.] Sure thing. [When they enter the control room, he'll stop and take the time to get used to the place. He's never been inside a spaceship or anything this advanced, and for someone who was wondering how a washing machine worked eight weeks ago, this is one hell of a difficulty curve.]
Hm. [He walks up to the nearest control panel.] How do you pick which world to go to?
no subject
[He sends a rather brooding look at the nearest terminal.]
We used to have one that was alive, like a robot. She broke down years ago, a little before all this shit with me even started. Computer, plot a course back to Duster's universe.
Confirmed. Plotting a course.
It took a while to get the dimension stuff set up, but now it's all just about knowin' what to tell her.
no subject
[Maybe there's a map on those consoles? Time to investigate everything and poke at things that don't look like buttons or levels. There might be something interesting like a hidden item.]
no subject
[Harvey circles around to the captain's chair, but doesn't sit. He just stands and stares at it for a moment instead, before turning away to rub tiredly at his eyes.]
- gotta be honest, I ain't sure I remember how I did it. Things got pretty weird.
[There's not a whole lot to find on the console. It's a little more dented up than it used to be; Harvey obviously hasn't been taking much care with it.
On the very bottom, there's a loose panel with a sticky note on it. Don't forget to re-enable the self-destruct!]
no subject
He hides his face and refocuses on the console. It's more rustic than the computers he saw in the New Pork Tower, if he could call machines rustic. That note definitely catches his attention.
Self...
!!
He pulls that sticky note off the panel and bunches it up in his hand. Before asking Harvey about it, he checks the nearby panels for any button of sign that points to a self-destruct button. Because that's how it works.]
no subject
Yeah, that's what happens when you screw this kinda thing up. Spent a little while out there... [Harvey turns away to inspect a different control panel along the wall, pressing a few buttons. Really, it looks like he's just doing it for something to do that isn't 'engaging fully in conversation'.] Not a great time. Wouldn't recommend it.
[He glances up again, past Duster as a planet appears on the viewscreen.]
Well, at least the whole thing ain't blown up.
no subject
Not yet, right? [Wait, was Harvey talking about the ship or the world?] Uh. We're already here? [Whoops, haha. He steps up to the window eyeing the control panel. No big red buttons?
Oh, but that view is something strange.] I've never seen anything like this before!
[To look at his planet or the control panel? Both are important and Duster switched between looking outside and by Harvey's hands.]
