THE MASTERMIND AU
NICK V. CN EDITION

It's time for Nick vs. CN's mastermind meme!

To those who aren't familiar, this is essentially an AU where your character is the one responsible for Nick v CN's Mutual Killing Game, and all of the carnage that came with it, from the kidnapping to the motives to the trials to the executions! And now, they have chosen to reveal themselves before the remaining members of their class at the final trial!

As such, you are free to play around with this as much as you would like; was your character just another pawn in the grand scheme of things, or did your character put everyone in the Killing Game for a different reason? What is your character's motivation for bringing despair? What do they intend to get out of this seemingly senseless killing? And what does the rest of the class have to do to stop the madness and go home?

There's probably going to be quite a bit of AUing from your character's original canon happening here to make them into the best harbingers of despair they can be, so feel free to go as nuts with it as you want to! And, of course, feel free to tag others with your character's reaction to their classmate's big reveal; it doesn't matter whether or not your character made it to endgame, have fun and mix up the survivor pool as much as you'd like!

Oh, and feel free to describe your character's sweet new Monobear-themed duds, too!!

[When the students arrive at the third floor, it seems to have transformed into a quaint looking cave, almost uncharacteristic compared to the horrors Monobear put them through. The only real clues were the journal entries scattered about the area. They are mostly about someone gushing about someone called "the greatest brother" adopting them, with the last entry detailing how excited the writer was that "the greatest brother" is finally letting them lead a "game".

Perhaps then it shouldn't be surprising when the students see a bear sitting on an ornate throne when they enter the trial room. What might be surprising though is that it was someone thought to be dead. Someone that nearly everyone defended when his "murderer" said that he killed him because he thought the bear was evil.

Panda.

He wasn't wearing a different outfit, but the look on his face was devoid of emotion.]

Welcome to your final trial, everyone.

[This can't be real.

Of all the people here, Wirt had expected Panda to be one of the last of them to actually be behind this. It was true that his knowledge OF these kinds of things were off putting at first, but he seemed so nervous and afraid that Wirt just. Believed him. What else could he do.

But here they were. And Wirt just slowly shakes his head in disbelief, trying to find something to say.]

I trusted you.

[babyhater]

[Panda raises and eyebrow, seemingly uncaring about Wirt's turmoil.]

So? Don't you know anything about sitiuations like this, Wirt? You can't trust anyone.

[Wirt doesn't bother to try and hold his scowl back. He'd trusted you, he'd comforted you and defended you and now here you are. Stabbing all of them in the back.]

You're wrong. We made it this far because we trusted each other. Not everyone's like you.

[Is it early to get jabs in? He doesn't know. All that's for sure is that the little whiny gnome boy is past upset at this point.]

[His look turns into a scowl.]

Is that true? Then where were you guys when my brothers and I were starving in the streets? Where were you when we were literally begging for anyone to adopt us? Where were you when the world constantly kicked us to the curb and spat on our bodies?!

[It seems like Panda is not just talking about the students.]

So that gives you the right to hurt others? You can't do that.

[Okay. He's still angry but it's hard to hold on to it fully. It's not diminishing, per se. But it's not the only thing guiding what Wirt says at this point either.]

I...there's a lot of awful things in the world too. Like, really awful. So many that it's easy to just look at them.

But that's not all there is. Even at the worst of times, most of us only killed because we had to or by accident. Even you have to admit we weren't as opportunistic as you thought we'd be.

[Panda shakes his head.]

Just because you guys aren't killing each other because you want to doesn't mean you are good people. None of you guys really cared about me, as much as you claim!

[No. No. Nooooooo. Not this sweet, lovable guy. No. Sokka doesn't want to accept it! It's.... It's too cruel. Why?]

Panda.... I...

[The look on his face is enough to show that he's actually feeling despair.]

[For a moment, Panda has a look of regret when he sees Sokka's reaction. It's not for a second either, he seems almost frozen for a few good seconds.

However, it eventually snaps back to a cold stare.]

S... surprised, huh?

Yeah... you.... why did you do it?

[His voice is small, almost scared. This is too painful already.]

This was my first test by The Greatest Brother; didn't you read the journal entries? My brothers are doing the exact same thing right now even!

Yeah. I got that part. But I don't think you guys are doing it the right way. You guys are too cute.

The same body he had found in their first week. The same one he had screamed and cried over.... The same one Daffy had supposedly killed...]

[He's so confused, so he just looks at Panda with eyes that show it, tears of betrayal already forming.]

You'd be surprised what The Greatest Brother can do to heal wounds. I knew all along Daffy wanted me dead anyway.
