THE MASTERMIND AU
NICK V. CN EDITION

It's time for Nick vs. CN's mastermind meme!

To those who aren't familiar, this is essentially an AU where your character is the one responsible for Nick v CN's Mutual Killing Game, and all of the carnage that came with it, from the kidnapping to the motives to the trials to the executions! And now, they have chosen to reveal themselves before the remaining members of their class at the final trial!

As such, you are free to play around with this as much as you would like; was your character just another pawn in the grand scheme of things, or did your character put everyone in the Killing Game for a different reason? What is your character's motivation for bringing despair? What do they intend to get out of this seemingly senseless killing? And what does the rest of the class have to do to stop the madness and go home?

There's probably going to be quite a bit of AUing from your character's original canon happening here to make them into the best harbingers of despair they can be, so feel free to go as nuts with it as you want to! And, of course, feel free to tag others with your character's reaction to their classmate's big reveal; it doesn't matter whether or not your character made it to endgame, have fun and mix up the survivor pool as much as you'd like!

Oh, and feel free to describe your character's sweet new Monobear-themed duds, too!!

Panda.... I...

[The look on his face is enough to show that he's actually feeling despair.]

[For a moment, Panda has a look of regret when he sees Sokka's reaction. It's not for a second either, he seems almost frozen for a few good seconds.

However, it eventually snaps back to a cold stare.]

S... surprised, huh?

Yeah... you.... why did you do it?

[His voice is small, almost scared. This is too painful already.]

This was my first test by The Greatest Brother; didn't you read the journal entries? My brothers are doing the exact same thing right now even!

Yeah. I got that part. But I don't think you guys are doing it the right way. You guys are too cute.

[Sokka, stop criticizing the mastermind.]

[Spoken like someone who gets teased by that a lot.]

And I'm not doing it wrong! I think I've been doing a great job on my first test!

If you looked more menacing I'd be more terrified. All I see is a panda who loves anime, his brother's cooking, and was willing to give everyone a chance.

[Panda folds his arms.]

Maybe when I was a child, but I'm not willing to give terrible people like you a chance!

[He frowns, watching his friend carefully.]

[Once of that there is a flicker of regret.]

Of course! This is your punishment after all!

[He really needs to know.... and depending on the reason, he will fight tooth and nail.]

[Panda looks awkward suddenly, as if trying to recall something.]

Because of your war crimes, disrespect to women, stuff like that.

Hey, I am perfectly respectful to women! Some of my best friends and people I fight beside and trust are women! I used to not be, but people change.

[As for the other.] How am I a war criminal?

[babyhater]

[Panda is quiet for a long time as he tries to think of something.]

You've probably killed some innocent people?

[trustyboomerang]

.... I know.... I feel awful about it... During war a lot of people die. The bad guys, the good guys, and innocent bystanders... You'd know that if you were ever forced into a war against people who want to wipe your own off of the map.

[babyhater]

Don't act like I don't know what pain is like! You don't know what I've been through!

[trustyboomerang]

The pain you felt and the pain I felt are different! I know that! The thing is, I told you all about myself and my pain, and you didn't tell me anything where I could have seen the pain you're in!

[He growls at his "friend"]

If you were really my friend, you would have trusted me.

[babyhater]

You wanna know what pain I'm in?! Fine! How would you like spending your childhood starving and feeling unloved by everyone but your own brothers! That no matter what you did no one would ever care about you?! And knowing that if you fail this you're going to-

[He suddenly falls into silence, realizing that he's said to much from his anger.]

[trustyboomerang]

[..... he'd hug you right now if he could.]

Die? [Sokka sighs softly.] I don't know what those things I like... I just remember the fear of being the only male in my tribe left to defend all these women and children, hoping everyday that the Fire Nation wouldn't show up and kill us all... waiting for your father to come home even if you didn't know if he was dead or not... We both had rough childhoods. But I wouldn't kill anyone because of it.

[babyhater]

He would never kill me...

[But the tone of his voice implies a "he wouldn't be nice enough to just do that"]

You... you really don't understand. I've been training my whole life for this. I have to do this!

[trustyboomerang]

[He grumbles a bit.]

Yeah, I do get one thing. You're just a puppet. There's no way Panda, my best friend in this place, could ever come up with something like this. He's not cruel or evil

[babyhater]

I... I'm not a puppet! I... I'm sure He cares about me...

Seems like he's trying to keep you out of the way while your brother's get the job done properly. It's what happens to people perceived as weak.

[babyhater]

My brothers would never think I'm weak! They love me too much!

[There is a chance he might be thinking about other brothers right now.]

If I were to be a mastermind, and happened to be working under someone else... I'd pair up with a family member. If I thought they were pathetic and would get in the way, I'd send them somewhere they can't bother me.
